Intro to Forrest Yoga: breath, strength, integrity and spirit.
Introduction to Forrest Yoga Forrest yoga has been developed by Ana Forrest over 30 years to address the physical and emotional stresses and challenges of today’s people. ForrestYoga is a dynamic practice built on the pillars of Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit. A great part of the uniqueness of Forrest Yoga is the sequencing – embracing exercises that generate energy in the core and work to unwind the neck, shoulders, hips and spine. The sequencing is brilliant for building strength, stability and flexibility, and is very effective for creating healing around injuries. This workshop will offer you the opportunity to discover the wonders and tools of Forrest Yoga, moving towards creating profound changes in the way that you work. A strong and steady sequence of Pranayama, Core Work, Inversions and Standing Poses will guide you through an experience of unravelling habitual tension, illuminating feeling in areas of ‘numbness’. Forrest yoga does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires that you bring an open mind. This workshop is suitable for all levels and modifications will be offered
Sat pm teachers workshops: 2.30-5PM, £35
Patterns of movement: bringing Shakti in to meet Shiva. Diversify, deepen and develop healthy, creative sequencing with new ways of moving that creatively evolve the practice
Much of the physical asana practice that has come through to the West has been dominated by linear forms of movement. We will be exploring non linear movement patterns that can bring diversity into your flow and more full spectrum healing to the body. The body loves to move, muscles and fascia in the body are nourished and healed best with a variety and range of movement patterns. In this workshop we will explore 5 kinds of movement patterns that will spice up your sequencing, help make your classes more anatomically savvy and invite in more balance between linear (Shiva) and non linear (Shakti) forms of movement in class. We will play with cyclical, undulating wave like, linear and circular patterns of movement and how to intelligently weave them into classes with ease and fluidity.
COST FOR ALL THREE SESSIONS, £70
